NHJCL 2026-2027 Board

Salvete omnes! mihi nomen est Emma-Jean, and I’m one of your co-consuls this year! When I’m not spending hours in the Pinkerton Academy chapel working on studying grammar or planning club events, I love exploring the outdoors, building props for stage crew, and visiting new places! I cannot wait for the awesome year of fun events coming up! 

My name is Tiago, I am a member of the class of 2028
at Phillips Exeter Academy. At home, in Brazil, I love
playing football and sailing. That is, of course, when I’m not knee deep in magistrula. Vale(u)!

Salvete, sodales! My name is Lydia (like the region of ancient Asia Minor), and I am so incredibly excited to serve as your vice-president this year. My favorite Latin work I’ve read so far is definitely The Aeneid, probably Book II, though I think Book IV is also probably pretty high up there. I love reading, playing the guitar, and writing. Super excited to see you all at nats!

Hola amigos! I'm Brody, this year's parliamentarian. When I'm not struggling in school, I'm struggling in certamen, looking for a j*b, traveling, or hanging with friends. I'm really excited for this year. See you all at nationals!

Kiva Baum will be serving this year as NHJCL’s historian. When she’s not in class conversing in a dead language, she’s working on that novel/play that she swears she’ll finish soon. Other interests include: German, theater, philosophy, and opera. Her favorite quotation from the Aeneid is  “UNA SALUS VICTIS NULLAM SPERARE SALUTEM.”

Salvete! I’m Kaylee Gong, and I’m so excited to be your Editor this year! I love journalism, videography/photography, and also running. In Latin, my favorite word is insanus: literally “insane,” but also “inspired” (with my interpretation, in a good way). So I hope you all are just as insanus (the latter definition!) as me with ideas for the Torch and the year ahead!

Hey guys! I’m Jehyeong Suh, your treasurer for this year! I’m currently a sophomore at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, but I’m originally from Seoul and I’ve lived in London as well. Outside of school, I love to ski, and I’m a big sports fan too. 

Salvete, amici! I’m Arjun, your webmaster. When I am not in school, I’m usually out hiking or experimenting with food (both cooking and eating). I enjoy building things, solving problems, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Looking forward to a great year with NHJCL!
